Akari (Light Up) puzzles you can play right now — no download

If you like Sudoku but want something with a bit more geometry, Akari (also known as Light Up) is worth a look. You place bulbs on a grid so every white cell is lit, no two bulbs shine on each other, and numbered cells must touch exactly that many bulbs. Simple rules, surprisingly deep deductions.

We found a clean free version: this Akari puzzle online guide explains the rules step by step with three beginner tips, and links straight into the playable game — daily-fresh grids, hints included, no sign-up, works in the browser.

The game itself lives on GridPaw's Akari page, a cat-themed Japanese logic puzzle site that also has Shikaku and Pictomino if you want more after this one.
